Top 10 Pre-Rendered Cutscenes
After killing the demons and taking out the large, walking creature’s brain, Samanosuke makes a quick exit as the beast erupts into fireballs, diving hundreds of feet to the ground, spinning quickly with his sword to slow him down. It doesn’t end there, but we could literally go on forever about why this is the best pre-rendered cutscene in gaming.

I remember seeing the trailer for Onimusha 3 some time ago, and I agree that it is probably the best pre-rendered cutscene yet made for a videogame, but I don’t think anyone could go on forever talking about it. Maybe a few million years if you discuss each individual pixel, but beyond that I don’t think it would hold my attention.

you are like literally speaking a different language. pre rendered cutscenes? is that like a first aid demo or something?

i dont think you could literally go on forever about it.
basically, i think the only thing you could say about it are: “sweet”, “oh my god,” and “it’s the best.” end of story.

No, a pre-rendered cutscene is one that’s been rendered in advance, and exists as-is on the game disc.

This is as opposed to on-the-fly rendering, which is how the game engine will generally make its graphics. This is more processor-intensive, so it won’t be as visually attractive as something that’s been pre-rendered, but it’s also possible to be interactive this way, whereas something that’s pre-rendered can’t be.
